Volunteer Effort to Restore Khao Khayai Forest Aims to Preserve Local Natural Resources

The Chai Nat Primary Educational Service Area Office, together with the Hankha 2 Education Coordination Center, united volunteers to restore the Khao Khayai forest, with hopes of conserving natural resources in the local community.

At 4:00 PM on 26 June 2026, Mr. Nirut Khemngern, Director of the Chai Nat Primary Educational Service Area Office, along with Mr. Anupong Klongkan, Mr. Somraksak Wannonnam, Acting Sub-Lieutenant Thanachot Raiera, Deputy Directors of the Chai Nat office, administrators, teachers, and educational staff from the Hankha 2 Education Coordination Center gathered to carry out the "Volunteer Unity to Develop Khao Khayai Forest, Chai Nat Province" activity at Khao Khayai area, Khao Tha Phra Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chai Nat Province.

This activity was conducted in line with the policy of Dr. Pichet Phophakdi, Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), and Dr. Pichet Wantong, Deputy Secretary-General of OBEC and Acting Inspector General of the Ministry of Education Secretariat. The policy emphasizes strong participation from schools and affiliated agencies in environmental conservation while fostering a "love for homeland" mindset among personnel and youth, laying a foundation for sustainable natural resource development.

Meanwhile, this activity also continues the Khao Khayai restoration project, inspired by Mr. Sutthipong Juljarern, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, who initiated the transformation of the area from a "Desert Mountain" back into a "Heavenly Mountain." The goal is to create an ecosystem suitable for wildlife habitation and a recreational exercise space for the residents of Chai Nat Province.

The Chai Nat Primary Educational Service Area Office has set a plan for all 12 education coordination centers under its jurisdiction to take turns participating in volunteer activities regularly every Friday to demonstrate unity and be part of conserving local natural resources continuously.
