Barbed Wire Installation at Ban Nong Jan Border Nighttime Military Area Entry Prohibited

Burapha Force tightened border security at Ban Nong Jan, Sa Kaeo Province, by installing barbed wire coils to block vulnerable routes and announced a ban on entry to military areas from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to prevent harm from malicious individuals.

On 29 June 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that Burapha Force, through the Khok Sung Task Force, enhanced security measures along the Thailand-Cambodia border by installing additional barbed wire coils to close risky routes at Ban Nong Jan and issued an announcement regulating entry and exit from military areas to maintain peace and protect the public.

Burapha Force, Khok Sung Task Force, and the 12th Ranger Control Unit from Ranger Company 1205 deployed engineering teams to install more barbed wire coils to seal border routes between observation checkpoints Jor Tor Sor 40 and 41 at Ban Nong Jan, Non Mak Mun Subdistrict, Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province, following orders from the Khok Sung Task Force commander.

This operation forms part of enhanced efforts to prevent illegal border crossings, unlawful acts, and to maintain security in the border area, with the operation proceeding smoothly.

Simultaneously, the Khok Sung Task Force issued Announcement No. 012/2569 regarding measures to maintain peace and order, establishing guidelines for entry and exit around Ban Nong Jan, declared a controlled security area by Burapha Force. The announcement states that public entry into military zones is prohibited from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to prevent military base photography, fights, carrying weapons or weapon-like items, and to deter malicious acts that could threaten security.

Residents with agricultural land in the area may work there only from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., using the route through checkpoint Jor Tor Sor 40, showing ID and registering with officials every time they enter or exit. This announcement has been in effect since 28 June 2026 GMT+7, signed by Colonel Natthawut Somphrom, commander of the Khok Sung Task Force, to ensure effective peacekeeping, safety of lives and property, and border security for local residents.
