"Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation" (DDPM) has issued a warning to six central provinces including Bangkok to monitor the situation of "high tide" closely during 13-19 July 2026.
On 11 July 2026, Mr. Theeraphat Kachamat, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, announced that the department is monitoring data from the Hydrographic Department of the Royal Thai Navy. The Navy issued Announcement No. 8/2569 on 8 July 2026 regarding water levels in the Chao Phraya River near Phra Chulachomklao Fort and nearby areas during 13-19 July 2026. It states that from 13 to 19 July 2026, between 18:00 and 22:00 hours, high tide levels are expected, potentially causing water overflow and rising river and canal levels. This may flood low-lying riverside and canal areas, as well as communities outside flood barrier lines, especially where permanent flood defenses are absent. The areas under high tide watch during 13-19 July 2026 are as follows:
Six central provinces and Bangkok include: Pathum Thani Province (Mueang Pathum Thani and Sam Khok districts), Nonthaburi Province (Mueang Nonthaburi, Pak Kret, and Bang Kruai districts), Nakhon Pathom Province (Bang Len, Nakhon Chai Si, and Sam Phran districts), Samut Sakhon Province (all districts), Samut Songkhram Province (all districts), and Samut Prakan Province (Mueang Samut Prakan, Phra Samut Chedi, Phra Pradaeng, and Bang Bo districts).
The Central Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Center (CDPMC) under the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has coordinated to notify the six central provinces—Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, and Samut Prakan—as well as Bangkok to monitor the high tide situation closely. The provinces are urged to inform the public about the high tide periods and warn relevant agencies and private sector operators along the rivers and canals, such as riverbank construction projects and floating restaurants, as well as residents living in riverside and low-lying risk areas, to remain vigilant and follow the situation closely.
Residents can follow disaster warning announcements via the THAI DISASTER ALERT application. If affected by any disaster, they can report incidents and request assistance through the Line account "DDPM Incident Reporting 1784" by adding the Line ID @1784DDPM, or by calling the 24-hour emergency hotline 1784 for prompt coordination of help.
