Heartbroken Parents Receive Bodies of Ice and Billy, Daughter and Son-in-Law Victims of Beer Factory Fire, Returned to Nakhon Nayok

Parents receive the bodies of their "daughter and son-in-law" victims of the Lat Phrao Beer Factory fire, returned for religious rites at Wat Klang Khlong 30, Nakhon Nayok, amid the family's deep sorrow.


Following the fire at the "Beer Factory at Lat Phrao" restaurant in Chomphon subdistrict, Chatuchak district, Bangkok, late on 12 July, which caused multiple deaths and many injuries, becoming a national tragedy that deeply saddened the country.

On 14 July 2026, reporters visited Wat Klang Khlong 30, Bang Plakod subdistrict, Ongkharak district, Nakhon Nayok, where abbot Phra Kru Nivit Yanakhun was preparing for the funeral. He revealed that the families of the deceased were bringing the bodies of their daughter and son-in-law, Ms. Namthip Thapsuk (Ice) and Mr. Suwitcha Sirislung (Billy), to perform religious rites for three nights. On 15 July 2026 at 16:00, there will be a water-pouring ceremony, with Mr. Suwitcha's cremation on Saturday, 18 July 2026, and Ms. Namthip's on Sunday, 19 July 2026 at 16:00, due to having only one crematorium.

Mr. Suwitcha, the deceased, had previously been ordained at this temple for nine days before returning to lay life to work. He was known for his friendliness, smiling and greeting people warmly, playful in nature, and well-loved by the community.

At 16:05, two Por Teck Tung Foundation vans arrived carrying the bodies in coffins to the assembly hall at Wat Klang Khlong 30. The mother lit incense and tapped the coffin lid to invite the souls of her daughter and son-in-law to descend from the vehicle into the cold coffins. Mr. Suwitcha's coffin was placed on top, and Ms. Namthip's coffin below, surrounded by the family's sorrowful atmosphere.

When asked, a friend named Ple briefly stated that the group of five went out together; two returned, one remains in the ICU, and two died.
