
Woman Issues Warning "Crafty Thief" breaks into cosmetics store, steals nearly 100,000 baht worth of goods, then removes eight CCTV cameras and also steals "wigs" to disguise himself and escape
On 18 July 2026, Ms. Ploypailin, 31, the sister of the owner of a cosmetics and nail supply store in Khlong 5, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province, presented CCTV footage to the media as a warning to the public and local business owners.
Ms. Ploypailin revealed that the incident occurred at around 11:00 p.m. on 17 July 2026. Nearby CCTV footage showed the suspect arriving on a motorcycle with a license plate, parking in front of a market, then walking around to the back of the store and breaking a window before climbing inside. The breaking and climbing caused damage to the product shelves.
The suspect spent up to four hours inside the store calmly searching and stealing items. He then removed eight CCTV cameras along with their memory cards to destroy evidence. The suspect also stole long wigs from the store to wear as a disguise before fleeing the scene.
The stolen and damaged property included a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera valued at about 21,000 baht, a Fender speaker worth approximately 15,000 baht, a Lenovo laptop valued at about 18,000 baht, eight CCTV cameras with memory cards totaling around 11,200 baht, and wigs worth about 3,000 baht. Additionally, damage to the broken back window and product shelves amounted to 5,000 baht each. The total estimated loss was around 78,200 baht. Police have inspected the scene, taken photos, and collected nearby CCTV footage as evidence.
Ms. Ploypailin concluded by stating that the suspect’s behavior was brazen and showed no respect for the law. She urged police to swiftly apprehend the perpetrator to prevent further crimes and protect local residents from similar distress.
