On 21 Jul 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported a collision between a car and a motorcycle that resulted in one death at the scene and one injury. The incident occurred on the Wichian Buri-Phetchabun East Road, route 2275, in front of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) Tha Daeng branch, Tha Daeng Subdistrict, Nong Phai District, Phetchabun Province.
CCTV footage revealed the motorcycle traveling along the road with a pickup truck following behind. The clip then shows the two vehicles colliding.
Later, Police Lieutenant Tulathorn Deeseng, an investigator at Nong Phai Police Station, along with the duty doctor from Nong Phai Hospital and Ruamkatanyu rescue volunteers, arrived at the scene. They found a white pickup truck registered in Phetchabun, driven by Mr. Mok, 70, parked about 120 meters from the accident site. At the scene lay a damaged blue motorcycle, also registered in Phetchabun. Nearby was the body of Mrs. Bua Kaewkongsang, 71, deceased. Her husband and motorcycle driver, Mr. Mong Kaewkrongsang, 72, was injured and had already been transported to Nong Phai Hospital by Ruamkatanyu rescue volunteers and Tha Daeng Subdistrict health rescue earlier.
Relatives of the deceased reported that the couple was traveling to the BAAC Tha Daeng branch to verify their State Welfare Card identity but were involved in the accident before reaching their destination.
Preliminary investigations indicate that before the accident, Mr. Mong Kaewkrongsang was riding the motorcycle with Mrs. Bua Kaewkongsang as the passenger, heading to verify their State Welfare Card identity at the BAAC Tha Daeng branch in Nong Phai District. As they traveled along the road, a white pickup truck followed closely behind. Nearing the bank, the motorcycle cut in front of the pickup truck, causing the collision that made Mrs. Bua fall, hitting her head on the road, leading to her death. Authorities will continue to investigate to determine the exact cause.
