At approximately 11:30 a.m. on 10 August 2026, reports stated several gunshots were fired inside the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization, resulting in two injuries. One of the injured was Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert, Chief of Nonthaburi PAO, and the shooter was Mr. Chalor Riewrang, former Nonthaburi MP.
Rescue workers and officers from Rattanathibet Police Station responded to the scene and detained Mr. Chalor, the suspect. The injured were rushed to the hospital. The motive behind the shooting is under detailed investigation.
Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert currently serves as Chief of Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization. He was born on 20 February 1955. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws from Ramkhamhaeng University, graduation from the 9th Special Police Cadet Class, and an honorary Doctorate in Educational Administration from the Faculty of Education at Dhonburi Rajabhat University.
