On 12 Aug 2026, reporters received updates regarding Ms. Chuanakorn Yokinmisinja, village head of Moo 4, Bang Bua Thong subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi province, who, along with the village security team and assistant village head, inspected an incident where a man showing signs of madness rampaged at Pracharat Bamrung School, an early childhood to elementary level school located in Moo 4, Bang Bua Thong. The incident occurred at 14:30 on 11 Aug. The suspect is Yut, also known as Bangrim, 37 years old. After causing the disturbance, he fled police capture by driving against the officers' direction.
At 09:00 on 12 Aug, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanathip Panthong, deputy superintendent of Bang Bua Thong police station, stated that after patrol officers received a report and inspected the scene with local authorities, the mentally ill man escaped by using a pedestrian path where his motorcycle could pass. Police then coordinated with the investigation unit to gather intelligence and track the suspect. Initial information indicates he resides in Phimonrat subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong district, but he did not return home last night, nor did he have his motorcycle with him.
Later at 15:00, Mr. Suwichak, 44, the victim, filed a complaint with the investigating officers at Bang Bua Thong police station. He reported that an unidentified man riding an unregistered motorcycle swerved in front of him and rode alongside another motorcycle. The suspect shouted, “You’re going to hit me. Stop, stop!”
The victim stopped his car, and the suspect approached saying, “You touched me.” Then he punched the victim, causing injury. The incident happened under the flyover at the Sai Noi intersection, Bang Bua Thong subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi, at 09:10 the same day (12 Aug). A bystander recorded the event on a mobile phone video. The footage shows the victim’s white car stopped in the second traffic lane with the trunk open. The suspect walked over and spoke to the victim, who was holding a baton-like weapon. The victim pushed the suspect’s face, then the suspect punched him, causing the victim to stagger. The victim then used the baton to strike the suspect.
Mr. Suwichak said that while driving from Sai Noi toward Bang Bua Thong Market, he encountered the suspect under the flyover. The suspect was riding his motorcycle erratically in front of him, so he honked his horn. Then another motorcycle passed him to approach the suspect’s motorcycle, and they argued loudly before the suspect started swerving dangerously. He feared a collision as the suspect refused to move aside.
The suspect then confronted him, yelling for him to stop. Not wanting trouble, the victim initially avoided stopping, but the suspect continued provoking him near the curve leading to Bang Bua Thong Market. Losing patience, he stopped and confronted the man, not realizing he was mentally ill. Seeing the suspect was large and likely overpowering, he retrieved a baton from his car trunk but first tested the situation to see if the suspect was armed.
When the suspect charged, the victim pushed him away, and the suspect said, “You touched me, right?” before punching him. The victim struck back once with the baton, breaking it against the suspect’s arm. They exchanged punches two or three more times, and the suspect kept harassing him. Then the suspect rode against traffic, and the victim followed, thinking he might have to collide with him. A bystander who recorded the video witnessed the incident from under the flyover but only captured part of it. The victim had already filed a police report and met with investigators to assist in the case.
Initial investigations identified the suspect as Yut, also known as Bangrim, a mentally ill man who caused disturbance at Pracharat Bamrung School and escaped police early that morning on a motorcycle. Prosecutors have collected evidence to hand over to the investigation and prevention units to track and prosecute the suspect.
