A 56-year-old municipal council member, son of a famous former MP in Saraburi, ended his life at home, leaving a final message for his family. Friends recounted finding his body after he had been missing for two days.
On 2 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at 08:30, Police Lieutenant Colonel Saman Phuwipak, investigating officer at Phra Phutthabat Police Station in Saraburi, received a report of a man's body found dead inside a house in Phra Phutthabat district, Saraburi. He, along with Saraburi forensic team and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers from Phra Phutthabat, went to investigate.
At the scene, there was a large two-story house located at a gas station, without a fence. Inside the air-conditioned ground-floor bedroom, Mr. Sitthipong Theplib, or James, 56, was found lying on his back on the floor beside the bed. He wore a gray T-shirt and blue shorts. The body was decomposed, estimated to have been dead for no less than two days.
Near his feet was a charcoal stove and an aluminum tray with ashes inside. On the bed was a handwritten letter containing a final request, apologizing to everyone and asking to be cremated immediately. The Saraburi forensic team collected additional evidence.
The deceased, Mr. Sitthipong Theplib, also known as James, was a municipal council member of Phra Phutthabat town, Saraburi. He was the son of Mr. Prasartporn Theplib, a former Saraburi MP nicknamed the "Iron Buffalo MP," well known locally. He was formerly affiliated with the Social Action Party and later joined several other political parties.
Mr. Sujin, a friend who rents a bottled water factory from Mr. Sitthipong, said that around 8 a.m. he went to check the house because he hadn’t seen Mr. Sitthipong visit the factory he rented inside the gas station for two days. Upon entering, he noticed a foul odor, opened the door, and shone a light inside, discovering that Mr. Sitthipong had already passed away. He then alerted the police. He recalled that the deceased had previously complained about multiple issues, including debt and chronic illnesses, and had made remarks suggesting he might take such an action, which he had thought were just jokes.
Ms. Charinrat, Mr. Sitthipong’s elder sister, revealed that her brother suffered from diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma. She had not seen him for a long time. He held the position of municipal council member of Phra Phutthabat. Their father was a former MP of Saraburi. She learned of her brother’s death at home from Mr. Sujin, who rents the water factory from him, and immediately drove to see him. Her brother had no family and rarely shared personal matters.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Saman Phuwipak from Phra Phutthabat Police Station arranged for Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers to transport Mr. Sitthipong’s body for a thorough autopsy at Srinakharinwirot University Hospital in Ongkharak, Nakhon Nayok, to determine the exact cause of death.
