In Nonthaburi, a neighbor found a middle-aged man gasping for breath and shouting "Help" beside the mysterious death of his wife inside their home. The injured man was rushed to the hospital as the true cause awaits investigation.
At 12:00 on 11 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Lieutenant Worawut Phudchim, deputy investigation officer at Bang Sri Muang Police Station in Nonthaburi, received a report of a death and injury with unknown cause at a village on Ratchaphruek Road, Bang Krang Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District. Upon notification, he proceeded to the scene accompanied by medical personnel from the Institute of Forensic Science, Nonthaburi forensic police, and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers.
The scene was a two-story detached house on about 50 square wah. In the ground floor living room near the inner front door, Ms. Orapin, 52, was found dead on the bed covered with a blanket. Nearby, Mr. Pornchai, 54, her husband, was lying face down gasping for breath beside the sofa. Rescue workers assisted and rushed him to the hospital.
Mr. Berm, 57, the village chief, said that normally the homeowners greet him daily, but he noticed the house gate had been left open for four days. He invited a neighbor to check since the gate is always closed whether the owners are home or not. Upon arrival, they saw the air conditioner running and rang the doorbell twice before hearing a faint shout of "Help." He then entered through the unlocked door and saw Mr. Pornchai lying face down near the sofa and the woman lying with her head facing the door, neatly covered as if sleeping. Approaching closer, he realized she was deceased and immediately called the police to assist Mr. Pornchai, who was still alive.
After police, medical staff, and forensic officers examined the house, no signs of assault or theft were found. The deceased woman showed no wounds or injuries, but pills were found in her mouth; their type remains unknown. Authorities plan to send her body for autopsy and toxicology to determine cause of death. The husband, after being hospitalized, was found to have chronic illness and low blood sugar and is under medical care. Further questioning will take place once his condition stabilizes.
Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
