The company managing the cemetery excavated four bodies at the Bang Khla Jewish Cemetery before transporting them by van to be reburied at a cemetery in Chonburi, prohibiting anyone from interfering with the ceremony.
In the case of the Jewish Cemetery Thailand in Chachoengsao Province, which did not renew its license, representatives of the company previously licensed to operate the cemetery stated they had received orders to dismantle the structures and relocate the bodies. They committed to completing the dismantling and transferring the remains to a cemetery in Ban Bueng District, Chonburi Province, by 16 September 2026. This receiving cemetery holds the proper license for establishment and operation, including cremation services, as previously reported.
Most recently, at about 11:30 a.m. on 15 September 2026, reporters observed four vans carrying the four deceased bodies departing from the front of the JEWISH CEMETERY THAILAND, Moo 2, Samet Tai Subdistrict, Bang Khla District, Chachoengsao Province. Police from Bang Khla Station and local volunteer forces managed traffic and kept unrelated locals away to ensure the vans exited smoothly.
Reporters noted that at 7:30 a.m., officials began excavating at graves without cement covers but found no bodies. They used a backhoe to dig further, uncovering nearly 10 burial block pits and discovered that the first body was not in the cemented grave but about five meters away.
During the excavation, continuous rain fell inside the cemetery. Each grave was about 200 centimeters deep and filled with rainwater, producing a sour orange-like smell that permeated the area before all four bodies were successfully exhumed.
The headman of Samet Tai Subdistrict expressed relief that all four bodies were removed but requested that all burial pits be properly leveled. During the excavation, officials noted an agreement with the company that no one was allowed to interfere with the religious ceremony; otherwise, the body relocation would be halted.
Mr. Kosol Inthrasorn, the chief officer of Chachoengsao Province, revealed that the company informed the Bang Khla district office yesterday afternoon of their plan to move the bodies at Samet Tai Cemetery on 16 September but changed the schedule to 5:00 a.m. today.
Chachoengsao Province will carry out its duties according to authority, regulations, laws, and the orders of the Deputy Minister of the Interior, strictly reviewing cemetery licensing and monitoring the area’s condition after the relocation.
