Severe flooding "Bang Pakong River" overflowed, flooding six villages in Kabin Buri and turning them into an underwater city. Over 2,000 residents are severely affected.
On 28 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that the disaster response team from Sawang Boriboon Foundation in Pattaya deployed jet skis and flat-bottom boats to assist over 500 households in Hat Nang Kaeo village, Kabin Buri district, Prachinburi province, after floodwaters from the Bang Pakong River surged into residents' homes from around 1 a.m. last night.
Six villages were heavily flooded: 1. Phet Erm village, 2. Hat Sung village, 3. Ban Song, 4. Wang Bua Thong, 5. Khao Din, and 6. Ban Ko Loi. In total, over 2,000 people across these villages suffered from the flooding.
Initially, these villages are located near the Bang Pakong River's headwaters, which connect to the Prachin River. Water levels rose since last night before flooding homes. Floodwaters reached 1 to 2 meters deep; some single-story houses were submerged up to their roofs, while others had water reaching the second floor. The Hat Nang Kaeo Subdistrict Administrative Organization and local rescue teams have been evacuating residents throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the disaster response team from Sawang Boriboon Foundation in Pattaya found that floodwaters overflowing from the Bang Pakong River surged through the villages, with some areas experiencing strong currents and dense forest. Rescue operations were difficult. So far, they have evacuated more than 70 people, including elderly, young children, and pets, relocating them from flooded homes to Wat Khao Din School, where authorities will provide further care and assistance.
Additionally, Wat Phet Erm, a temple built during King Rama V's reign over 100 years ago, was severely flooded, damaging its main hall and pavilion. Residents said a major flood occurred in 2013; this current event is similarly severe but the water rose much faster, leaving insufficient time to move belongings to safety.
