In Ratchaburi, an urgent Cell Broadcast alert warns that the Mae Klong Dam is preparing to increase water discharge, potentially raising water levels by 2.5–3 meters. Immediate evacuation is advised for at-risk groups, particularly those in riverside and low-lying areas.
The Ratchaburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, represented by Mr. Nattawut Benjasuratwong, announced that the province has urgently sent warning messages via Cell Broadcast to residents. This is due to plans to continuously increase water discharge from the Mae Klong Dam, starting at 2,000 cubic meters per second from 1:00 p.m. onward. It is estimated that this water will reach the receiving areas within about 8–9 hours, with a potential further increase in discharge up to 3,000 cubic meters per second. This will raise water levels along riverbanks and downstream areas of the dam, including near the Rat Pracha Phatthana Dam, by approximately 2.5 to 3 meters.
Therefore, Ratchaburi authorities have instructed and advised residents in at-risk areas, especially those near rivers, in low-lying zones, and locations already experiencing flooding, to evacuate immediately. Priority should be given to children, pregnant women, bedridden patients, and vulnerable groups, relocating them to shelters or safe zones prepared by local administrative organizations (LAOs). Residents in vulnerable areas can seek assistance or advice regarding travel and evacuation plans from district officers, subdistrict chiefs, village heads, and local community leaders. The public is urged to closely monitor official announcements and news for updates on the evolving water situation.
Currently, the latest situation shows that water from the Mae Klong River has begun overflowing into the community area of Wat Mahathat in Ratchaburi municipality, Mueang Ratchaburi District, resulting in rising water levels that have affected some residential areas. Officials and members of the Volunteer Defense Corps have waded into flooded community areas to assist residents in moving electrical appliances, essential supplies, and valuables to higher ground to prevent potential damage if water levels continue to rise.

The Facebook page “SWT Ratchaburi” posted an alert at about 2:20 p.m. stating that as of 12:00 p.m. on 29 Sep 2026, the Mae Klong River water level at the Ratchaburi municipality gauge was 4.00 meters. Residents living along the Mae Klong River, its tributaries, and low-lying areas in Ban Pong, Photharam, Mueang Ratchaburi, Bang Phae, Damnoen Saduak, Wat Phleng, and Pak Tho districts are urged to evacuate immediately, especially children, patients, and the elderly. They should move vehicles and belongings to higher ground and cut off electricity in low areas.
