Several days of heavy rain accumulation have led to widespread flooding on a main road in Pathum Thani province, especially inbound Phahonyothin Road opposite the National Memorial. Water levels have risen to nearly one meter, causing numerous small cars to stall and accumulate. Military forces have deployed GMC vehicles to assist, while residents and workers struggle to navigate the flooded area, urgently appealing for water pumping and drainage to be accelerated.
On 30 Sep 2026, reporters surveyed the flood situation in Pathum Thani province following continuous heavy rain since about 14:30. The accumulated water quickly flooded several roads. The worst affected area is inbound Phahonyothin Road opposite the National Memorial near Thupatemi Stadium, Khu Khot Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani province.
Inspection revealed widespread flooding causing long traffic jams in both inbound and outbound directions. Cars and taxis struggled to drive through the water, and at least 3-4 private vehicles had stalled by the roadside. Military personnel brought in GMC vehicles to facilitate movement and help evacuate people from areas inaccessible to small cars.
Mr. Chaiyanat, 25, an engineer, said he regularly uses this route and noted that heavy rain has been ongoing since 25 Sep. However, prolonged flooding has caused severe impacts. Today, he had to wade through water up to 90 centimeters nearly one meter deep to deliver goods, making travel very difficult. He urged relevant agencies to speed up water pumping and drainage to alleviate the impact on work and daily life.
Similarly, Mr. Rachata Khiao-on, 34, a security guard, said the flooding prevented him from commuting to work. He had to rely on donated boxed meals to survive, and even going out to buy essentials at convenience stores was extremely difficult.
Currently, local residents are facing serious difficulties with travel and livelihoods due to the flooding. They call on relevant agencies to urgently deploy water pumps to manage and drain the accumulated water, as the area remains at risk of further heavy rains.
