Severe Flooding Continues in Chachoengsao as Bang Pakong River Overflows onto City Streets, Water Levels Expected to Rise

Flooding in Chachoengsao remains severe. Close monitoring is necessary as many areas suffer from flash floods, river overflows, and standing water. Recently, water from the Bang Pakong River has started flooding streets near the city center.

At 18:00 on 4 October 2026, Ms. Piyaratch Tiyapairat, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, along with Ms. Thitima Chaisaeng, Member of Parliament for Chachoengsao Province, visited the area near the Chalerm Phra Kiat 72nd Anniversary Bridge to monitor the water situation and observe the Navy personnel operating water-pushing boats on the Bang Pakong River. Twenty water-pushing boats have been deployed to aid water drainage, enhancing the efficiency of pushing water out of the area and alleviating impact on riverside communities still facing continuous incoming water flow.

Mr. Monsit Paisanthanawat, Governor of Chachoengsao Province, reported on the situation and response measures. He is coordinating with relevant agencies to monitor water levels, expedite water drainage from homes and key economic areas, and prepare assistance for flood victims.

Affected areas include Mueang Chachoengsao District, where Khlong Udom Chon Chor Subdistrict reports flooding in over 1,000 households with water depths exceeding 80 centimeters in some places. In Bang Phai Subdistrict, water has flooded the surface of Highway 304 and low-lying areas along the banks of Bang Khla District, especially in Samet Tai and Hua Suan Subdistricts. Water from the Bang Pakong River has overflowed into communities, forcing some residents and vulnerable groups to evacuate to shelters during the night.

In Sanam Chai Khet District, Lat Krathing and Tha Kradan Subdistricts were affected by flash floods, inundating schools, communities, and transportation routes. In Tha Takiap District, continuous rain caused repeated flooding in the Si Yat canal basin areas, including Ban Thamanao, Ban Sam Phan, and Ban Theppharat.

In Bang Nam Priao and Khlong Khuean Districts, water overflowed into riverside communities and areas outside flood barriers. Meanwhile, in Plaeng Yao, Ratchasan, Ban Pho, Bang Pakong, and Phanom Sarakham Districts, agricultural lands, shrimp and fish ponds, low-lying homes, and several roads have been impacted.

On the city street area of Mueang Chachoengsao District, water from the Bang Pakong River has begun to overflow onto roads, though the water level is not very high. Motorcycles can still pass, but officials continue to closely monitor the situation as water flow into the river persists, with water levels expected to rise this evening and overnight.

Residents in low-lying areas and riverside communities are advised to continuously monitor water levels and provincial announcements, prepare to move belongings to higher ground, and be ready to evacuate if ordered.
