Mother and Three Children Found Dead: Victim Contacted Loan Scammer via Facebook Account Closed, Police Intensify Search

In the case of a mother and her three children found dead, it was discovered that the victim had contacted a loan provider via Facebook. The account has since been closed. Police have called a meeting to collect evidence and are urgently searching for the Facebook user and the owner of the account receiving the transferred funds.

On 7 Oct 2026 10:30 GMT+7, reporters reported that at the operations center meeting room of Pathum Thani City Police Station, Police Major General Peeraphol Chotiksethien, Chief of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, together with Police Major General Phanupakorn Jitprayurdee, Chief of Investigation Division 1 Region 1, Police Colonel Aphirak Champasri, Deputy Chief of Cyber Crime Division 2, Police Colonel Wisarut Jansuwan, Superintendent 1 Cyber Crime Division 2, Police Colonel Harit Kamjumphon, Superintendent of Investigation at Pathum Thani Provincial Police, and Police Colonel Wiwat Asawawiboon, Superintendent of Pathum Thani City Police Station, held a meeting to follow up on the case of a single mother who tragically died in her apartment in the Pathum Thani area, along with her two young children, totaling three deaths.

Initially, the deaths have been linked to the mother being deceived by a loan app into transferring 1,000 baht but not receiving the loaned money. She was then asked to transfer an additional 400 baht to cover document correction fees, which caused her severe stress, leading to her decision to end her life along with her children, as previously reported.

After over an hour of meetings, Police Major General Peeraphol Chotiksethien said that today, relevant agencies were summoned along with Police Major General Phanupakorn Jitprayurdee, Chief of Investigation Division 1 Region 1, including investigation teams from Region 1, Pathum Thani Provincial Police, Pathum Thani City Police, and cybercrime units.

The National Police Chief has ordered an investigation into whether loans or money transfers occurred via loan apps. Preliminary checks reveal the victim contacted a genuine loan via Facebook, but the Facebook account has now been closed. Authorities will track down the Facebook user and the person named on the account that received the victim's transferred money.

Regarding other aspects, police are interviewing friends and colleagues, alongside examining the suicide note to identify the final trigger behind the incident. It is preliminarily believed to be related to personal problems or debt. Investigations continue to gather all evidence. Autopsy results from the Department of Forensic Science, Ministry of Justice, are awaited for further confirmation on the cause of death.

Concerning the bodies of the deceased, today Mr. Natthawut, aged 28, from Phrae Province, the former husband and father of the children, traveled to the Department of Forensic Science, Ministry of Justice, to collect the three bodies to proceed with religious ceremonies at Wat Bang Nang Boon, Mueang District, Pathum Thani Province.
