Different Story: Uncle Yothins Sister Denies Brothers Claim of Having No Relatives, Announces Cut-Off

The younger sister of “Uncle Yothin” strongly refutes her brother’s claim that he has no relatives, stating that siblings have always helped him. The family has faced severe criticism; she expressed deep sorrow and announced she will cut ties and no longer take him back into her care.

On 20 October 2026, Ms. Morakot Mapobpan, 71, a trader and the biological younger sister of Mr. Yothin Mapobpan, also known as “Uncle Yothin,” a former famous actor, filed a complaint through the media to clarify facts. This followed her brother’s TV interview claiming he had no relatives, no home, and no food, forcing him to work in exchange for meals. This led to harsh public criticism of Ms. Morakot and her siblings.

Ms. Morakot revealed that her brother’s interview was untrue. She, along with Ms. Oranuch Mapobpan, 66, Ms. Yuwadee Mapobpan, 65, and a brother in the south, pooled their senior citizen allowances to cover her brother’s living expenses, including rent, food, personal items, water, and electricity. They only asked for Uncle Yothin’s 700-baht senior allowance to contribute toward rent. She personally covered any shortfalls, including his psychiatric treatment costs.

Ms. Morakot added that before the incident, Uncle Yothin had left home for just two days, saying he was going to work at Suan Kaew Temple. She gave him 300 baht to take with him. Later, police at Bang Yai Station called to confirm her as his true sister. She expressed confusion over reports that her brother had no relatives. Previously, he had worked at Suan Kaew Temple once but couldn’t stay, then stayed with officials from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security in Nonthaburi for three days before they called her to pick him up and arrange a rental room for him as usual.

After the news spread, Ms. Morakot tried repeatedly to contact Director Fah but received no answer. She appealed for Director Fah to stop reporting that Uncle Yothin has no relatives, emphasizing the family’s ongoing support. She also told her brother that at his age, he should improve his behavior and appreciate those caring for him. She declared that if he ever cannot live at Director Fah’s foundation and wishes to return home, she will refuse to take him back, feeling hurt that he undervalued his siblings and spread false information causing the family to be condemned.

Meanwhile, local residents confirmed Ms. Morakot’s statements, saying they have always seen her and her siblings caring for Uncle Yothin regarding his housing and welfare. They expressed surprise at the news reports claiming he was abandoned and had no relatives to care for him.
