The ex-wife of 'Uncle Yothin,' a supporting actor, spoke out denying that she called to request a 300,000 baht donation, saying the other party offered the money herself. She explained that her contact was out of concern and clarified the issue about leaving the apartment.
Following a heated online controversy after reports claimed that the latest ex-wife of 'Uncle Yothin,' or Mr. Yothin Mapobphan, aged 73, a former supporting actor in many productions, had called to request financial help after over 300,000 baht in donations flowed into Uncle Yothin's account, Director Fah, the head of Faa Hai TV station, reportedly used her own money to transfer 2,000 baht to calm the situation, as previously reported.
The latest update, on 27 Oct 2026, a reporter visited Chai Charoen Apartment in Khu Khot Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province, and met 'Mrs. Bee' (a pseudonym), aged 57, the most recent ex-wife of Uncle Yothin, who agreed to openly explain the situation.
Mrs. Bee firmly denied the reports, stating that she never called to demand or request money from Uncle Yothin as alleged. She said her concern arose after seeing news about Uncle Yothin, so she tried to find a new phone number and contacted him out of genuine care, as the old number had been unreachable for over two years. When she called, she didn't know who Uncle Yothin was with and had never heard of 'Director Fah' before.
Throughout their relationship, even when Uncle Yothin earned income from acting or advertisements, she never asked for money, only occasionally receiving 100-200 baht to buy groceries. The 5,000 baht she once received during the government’s cash distribution was given by Uncle Yothin willingly. She affirmed that she did not demand money this time, considering it his to decide whether to give or not. What hurt her most was society's perception that she called to mooch or ask for money, when in fact, it was Uncle Yothin who offered to give.
Regarding the issue of Uncle Yothin having to leave the apartment, Mrs. Bee explained it was due to financial burdens. Originally, the owner allowed them to stay rent-free, paying only for water and electricity, which she bore alone without help from Uncle Yothin. After he was ordained and planned to return to live together, the owner required regular rent payment. Her health had not fully recovered, preventing her from working, and with only 3,000 baht per month sent by her brother, 1,900 baht social security, and friends helping with utilities, she could not afford the increased rent.
Meanwhile, a 73-year-old resident named Grandma On, who lived opposite Mrs. Bee’s room, said that while Uncle Yothin lived there, they did not talk much due to different personalities and ways of speaking. Usually, Uncle Yothin kept to himself in his room. She recalled hearing them argue occasionally, with some harsh words exchanged between him and his wife.
On the other hand, Aunt Tui, 60, owner of a food stall opposite the apartment, shared that she had known Uncle Yothin for many years. While he lived there, she often saw him drinking coffee, smoking, and exercising in the mornings outside the apartment before regularly coming to eat at her shop. From her perspective, Uncle Yothin was friendly, talkative, and cheerful, never causing trouble. Regarding his moving out, she only knew he was going to live with relatives and had mentioned selling grilled pork skewers. Previously, he and his wife had sold chili paste together. She said she missed him and hoped he would visit again.
