The First Army Region honors a brave soldier Sergeant Major Wuthchakorn Thothong He participated in the mission to protect sovereignty at the Sa Kaeo border, enduring hardships on duty until his pre-existing illness worsened, and he later died after being hospitalized.

On 12 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Facebook pageof the First Army Regionposted a statement saying that regarding the social media reports naming Sergeant Major Wuthchakorn Thothong of the 25th Cavalry Battalion, 4th Cavalry Regiment, King's Guard, who reportedly died from a clash at the Sa Kaeo border,

The First Army Region Operations Center has verified the facts and clarified that the unit was assigned to carry out the eastern border defense plan in Sa Kaeo Province. During their demanding duties, Sergeant Major Wuthchakorn’s pre-existing illness flared up. He was hospitalized locally from 16 Nov 2025 and later transferred to Phra Mongkutklao Hospital in Bangkok.

He subsequently deteriorated and died on 11 Dec 2025 GMT+7. His death was not due to any clash in the area. The First Army Region pays tribute to the brave soldier who gave his all in defending and preserving the nation’s sovereignty.
