First Appearance of Bomb-Dropping Drones Reported by 1st Army in Ban Nong Ya Kaew Area

The 1st Army Command summarized the border situation on the Sa Kaeo side at Ban Nong Ya Kaew, which Thai soldiers have now secured. Cambodia continues to launch continuous attacks, including the use of bomb-dropping drones, appearing for the first time in the area. A total of 44 personnel have been injured.

On 11 December 2025 GMT+7, the 1st Army Operations Center summarized the Thai-Cambodian border situation in Sa Kaeo Province for 12 December 2025 GMT+7 at 18:00.

The Burapha Task Force is conducting sovereignty defense operations amid the ongoing Thai-Cambodian conflict on its fifth day, with key actions as follows.

Areas that have been secured. These include Ban Nong Ya Kaew in Khok Sung District, where forces have been positioned to hold the claimed line. The Cambodian side has resisted by continuously firing BM-21 rocket launchers, artillery, grenade launchers, and bomb-dropping drones, the latter appearing for the first time in this area.

Areas where strategies are underway to seize control. These include Ban Khlong Phaeng in Ta Phraya District and Ban Nong Jan in Khok Sung District. Cambodia has countered with continuous BM-21 rocket, artillery, and grenade launcher fire. Due to the open terrain, operations face considerable difficulty. However, our forces have destroyed an ammunition depot near Ban Chok Chey directly opposite Ban Nong Jan.

Areas where forces are deployed for protection and holding positions. These include Ban Khlong Luek in Aranyaprathet District and Ban Khao Din in Khlong Hat District. At Ban Khlong Luek's permanent border crossing in Aranyaprathet, Thai authorities have prepared to reopen the checkpoint to receive Thai nationals returning from Poipet, Cambodia, for processing and screening. Immigration officers and relevant agencies are coordinating with Cambodia but have yet to receive a response on release for the second consecutive day.

Regarding personnel injured in the ongoing situation, today it was reported that 10 additional soldiers were wounded and 1 died (participated in operations but passed away due to illness at Phra Mongkutklao Hospital). Since 8 December 2025 GMT+7 to date, total casualties are 44 wounded and 3 killed.

For residents in the border areas of Sa Kaeo Province’s four districts, the provincial authorities together with relevant agencies have opened 40 temporary shelters across 5 locations, accommodating 21,500 people.

The 1st Army Command affirms its commitment to fully carry out its mission. Military operations will proceed under rules of engagement and the right to self-defense until threats in Sa Kaeo border areas cease, prioritizing Thailand's sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.
