On 17 Dec 2025, the Navy disclosed that on the previous day (16 Dec), the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command (CBDC) through the Trat Marine Task Force (TMF) detected Cambodian BHQ troops reinforcing near Ban Nong Ree, close to the Samlang area in Trat Province. A large number of soldiers were deployed, as indicated by approximately four to five luxury vehicles parked in a row, believed to belong to high-ranking commanders leading frontline operations.
The Navy coordinated with the Air Force to launch an aerial attack on the military targets. Subsequently, the Trat Marine Task Force employed bomb-dropping drones to destroy all military targets, causing complete damage. This destruction was conducted because the targets posed a threat and were considered a form of aggression against Thailand.
