Trat Marines Task Force raided the Tomoda casino and found five lions and bears caged. They coordinated with the National Park authorities to take custody and are accelerating efforts to investigate whether this is connected to transnational wildlife trafficking.
On 23 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that after the Trat Marines Task Force cleared the area at Tomoda casino in Pothisat province, Cambodia, they found one male and one female lion, two male gaur bears, and one unidentified bear caged within the casino grounds.
Commander Udom Kulsiripanyo, Chief of Staff of the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command, coordinated with the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation to arrange for officials to move the three bears to Banglamung Wildlife Breeding Center in Chonburi province. The two lions will be sent to Khao Son Wildlife Breeding Station. Further investigation will be conducted to determine if this is related to a transnational wildlife trafficking network.
