
Residents are celebrating as the Burapha Task Force has lifted the curfew in four border districts of Sa Kaeo Province after the situation became manageable. This aims to alleviate hardships and promote the economy. Merchants are lively, rushing to buy goods and open shops to earn income during the New Year period.
On the morning of 30 Dec 2025, the Burapha Task Force issued an announcement regarding the cancellation of the curfew that prohibited people from leaving their homes during specified hours.
It stated that the Burapha Task Force had previously imposed a curfew from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. in four border districts of Sa Kaeo Province, namely Ta Phraya, Khlong Sok, Aranyaprathet, and Khlong Hat districts. Dated 10 December 2025.
Because the threat to life and property from outside the kingdom in the area is now at a controllable level, to ease the daily hardships of residents and to promote the province’s economy and tourism, the curfew is hereby lifted effective immediately.
Following the announcement, residents and traders in Aranyaprathet district expressed joy at being able to celebrate the New Year festival. Many came out to buy food, especially merchants who hurried to restock in preparation for lively shop openings.
A female vendor at the Aranyaprathet market said she was very happy that the Burapha Task Force lifted the curfew. It will revive trade and the economy in the market, especially during the New Year festival. Residents can now celebrate the New Year, and merchants can resume selling after nearly 20 days of displacement due to fighting forcing them to flee their homes.
