Marine engineers from the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command cleared the "Tamoda Casino" and found a large cache of Cambodian military weapons hidden there, including RPG rocket launchers, grenade launchers, and over 10,000 rounds of ammunition.
On 5 Jan 2026, marine engineer units from the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command conducted an operation after securing a key strategically advantageous area. They inspected the Tamoda Casino and nearby Ban Nong Ri, which Cambodia had used as a military base and weapons storage site for attacks against Thailand in the past.
Recently, the Naval Ordnance Department, together with marine engineers, cleared the interior of the Tamoda Casino and discovered a large weapons cache hidden inside the building. They confiscated many military weapons, including PF-89 80mm anti-tank rocket launchers, 60mm grenade launchers, RPG-2 and RPG-7 anti-tank rocket launchers, 75mm recoilless rifles, and B-40 anti-tank rockets.
They also found tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition of various calibers, multiple types of hand grenades, and a large quantity of 12.7mm anti-aircraft rounds, both old and new.
The Naval Ordnance Department will take some of the weapons for safekeeping for study and inspection, while the remaining weapons will be destroyed according to official procedures.
