Water Main Breaks in Three Locations, Water Jets High onto Road Damaging Cars and Tire Shop

A water main burst in three locations along Mab Tiang Road, the entrance to Laem Chabang in Chonburi Province, causing water to jet high onto the road. Several cars and a tire shop were damaged. Officials from the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) inspected the site and assessed the damage, estimated at about 500,000 baht.

At 12:00 p.m. on 2 March 2026, the radio center of the Pure Yang Tai Sriracha Rescue Unit in Sriracha District, Chonburi Province, received a report of a large water main explosion in front of Thana Tire Shop on Mab Tiang Road, heading into Laem Chabang, Nong Kham Subdistrict, Sriracha District. The incident caused water to shoot high into the air, damaging several cars and property inside the tire shop. Upon receiving the report, rescue volunteers were promptly dispatched to investigate.

At the scene, it was found that a large water main beneath the road surface had ruptured and exploded in three places. A large volume of water gushed violently onto the street, damaging multiple vehicles, including a white Toyota Fortuner registered in Bangkok, a white Hino 10-wheel truck also registered in Bangkok, motorcycles, and equipment inside the tire shop. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

Rescue personnel quickly managed traffic to prevent further accidents, concerned about the flooded road conditions and the continuing strong water pressure during the initial phase.

Local residents reported hearing a loud explosion-like noise around 10:00 a.m., followed by water rapidly spurting up from the road surface. This caused immediate damage to parked cars nearby and the adjacent tire shop.

Initially, officials from the Provincial Waterworks Authority inspected the site and assessed the damage, working swiftly to control the situation. The preliminary damage estimate is about 500,000 baht, and steps will be taken to compensate those affected.
