The 2026 Bo Win Songkran Festival has begun with a lively atmosphere. People are coming out to splash water and cool down despite the local administrative organization announcing the official cancellation of the event. It is regarded as a once-a-year stress-relief activity.
At 17:30 on 5 April 2026, reporters observed the atmosphere in Bo Win Subdistrict, Si Racha District, Chonburi Province, along Nong Kang Pla–Huai Prap Road and Eastern Seaboard Road, both inbound and outbound near Village 7. A large number of people gradually gathered to splash water enthusiastically, even though this year the Bo Win Subdistrict Administrative Organization officially canceled the Wan Lai Songkran event.
Nevertheless, local residents continue to uphold the Wan Lai tradition, which is a distinctive feature of Bo Win. This area is also the first in Thailand to hold a Wan Lai event. The atmosphere is full of fun, with people playing in the water to cool off amid the hot and humid weather.
Although oil prices have steadily increased recently, most people still join the activities without hesitation, seeing Songkran and Wan Lai as annual events and a time to relax from stresses related to the economy and various daily life situations.
The overall atmosphere is vibrant, reflecting the people's strong connection to Thai traditions and their desire to preserve these valuable cultural practices for the future.
