Over 600 Line Up for Only 30 Job Openings at New Chonburi Factory Some Arrived as Early as 1 a.m.

A new factory in Chonburi opened its first day, drawing more than 600 young workers who lined up in a queue stretching for kilometers. Some arrived as early as 1 a.m., sleeping while waiting in hope, even though the company was hiring only 30 people.

Recently, social media circulated photos of hundreds of people waiting overnight to apply at a company in Chonburi province. The first in line had arrived at 1 a.m., but the company was accepting only 30 applicants.

At 10 a.m. on 27 Apr 2026 GMT+7, reporters visited LeLon Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Ban Kao subdistrict, Phan Thong district, Chonburi, and found many men and women waiting to fill out job applications in front of the company.

A company security officer said that when he arrived for his 8 a.m. shift, he was shocked to see about 600 young men and women waiting to apply, even though the company announced only 30 job openings. However, everyone had responsibilities and hopes for their families, struggling to apply and find work. He expressed support for all applicants and said the company would decide who to select.

Ms. Kratai, 21, who came to apply, said she just graduated and wants to work to support her family. Upon learning that this new company was hiring, she came to apply. When she arrived in the morning, she saw a long line of people waiting, some since midnight. Some brought items like helmets to hold places. Although only 30 would be hired, she remains hopeful to secure a job to earn a living and support her family.
