
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) delegation will visit Bangkok and Chonburi from 28-30 April. Thailand is preparing to showcase its capability to bid for hosting the Youth Olympic Games Bangkok 2030.
On 27 April 2026, reporters reported that Mrs. Danka Hrbékova, IOC member and Chair of the Youth Olympic Games 2030 working group, along with her delegation, officially arrived in Bangkok. They were warmly welcomed by Mr. Preecha Lalun, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) for Elite Sports and Sports Science; Dr. Suwanna Silpa-archa, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand; Dr. Chuenchanok Siriwat, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand; Mr. Ratpol Phai-ngam, Director of the Sports Association Registration Division; and Mr. Akkarapol Phuengporn, Director of the Elite Sports Competition Division at SAT, during the official visit from 28-30 April.
This visit to Thailand from 28–30 April is a crucial step in the IOC's evaluation process under the Targeted Dialogue phase for selecting the host of the Youth Olympic Games 2030.
Throughout the intensive three-day visit, activities will include workshops, technical briefings, and site inspections of proposed competition venues. The Thai side will present their vision, event concept, management structure, operational plan, and key strategies to deliver an effective Games.
This schedule offers the IOC working group a comprehensive opportunity to assess Thailand's feasibility, readiness, and commitment. The mission will conclude on Thursday, 30 April, with a press conference summarizing the discussions and outlining the next steps in the host selection process.
