Moroccan Man Throws Drinks for Bar Girls but Refuses to Pay, Police and City Officials Detain Him Amid Loud Complaints at Station

A commotion erupted as a Moroccan man showed off by buying drinks for bar girls totaling 2,500 baht but refused to pay. Police and city officials went to detain him but were met with loud complaints inside the police station.

At 1:30 a.m. on 4 May 2026, Pattaya city special affairs officers on duty by the Pattaya beachfront received a call for help from a Thai woman. She reported that a foreign man had refused to pay for drinks and fled the bar, then appeared outside a restaurant called Mae Sri Ruen Chicken Noodle along the Pattaya Beach Road (Central Pattaya), Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

At the scene, officers found an unidentified foreign man with no ID documents. He was identified only as a Moroccan aged about 30–35 years, intoxicated and displaying aggressive behavior, verbally abusing various officials.

City officials attempted to escort him to Pattaya City Police Station, but he took advantage of a momentary lapse to run away toward Soi 12 on Pattaya Beach Road. However, officers managed to catch him shortly afterward. The man continued to shout abusive language and appeared ready to assault officers before being handcuffed and taken to the station to calm down.

Mr. Pornpot Madkhao, a Pattaya city special affairs officer, said he was called by a Thai woman who reported that the foreign man had visited a beer bar and summoned the bar’s PR girls to drink with him, buying drinks for the girls totaling 2,500 baht. When it was time to pay, the foreign man caused a scene and then casually ran out of the bar. Staff chased after him and encountered the city officials to request assistance.

Initially, police detained the foreign man in a holding cell on charges of being intoxicated and causing a disturbance. They also coordinated with the affected beer bar to pursue legal action against the foreign man.
