On 14 May 2026, Mrs. Puangphet Pitaksahaphum, chief of Samnak Bok Subdistrict Administrative Organization, along with Deputy Chiefs Mr. Seri Limratipong and Mr. Rattanaporn Dechatayanand, village headman Mr. Nithi Prasongkit, district official Mr. Preetiphat Wanna, Chonburi provincial industry officer Mr. Phitsanu Khantakarn, police from Mueang Chonburi Station, and other officials inspected two factories in Village 6, Samnak Bok Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chonburi Province. This followed complaints from residents about foul odors and wastewater problems from production processes.
The inspection found the area to be a warehouse for rent, containing many machines, chemical tanks, and rubber glove molds. Most workers were Thai nationals working inside the warehouse. Behind the warehouse, there was no proper wastewater treatment system, and wastewater from production was illegally discharged into private land. This caused environmental damage and widespread disturbance to local residents. Additionally, strong chemical odors were spreading in the area.
Mrs. Puangphet Pitaksahaphum, chief of Samnak Bok Subdistrict Administrative Organization, said she received complaints from villagers and assigned the deputy chief to inspect. They found the factories lacked permits and wastewater treatment ponds, and discharged wastewater into public areas. Therefore, they coordinated with relevant agencies to inspect the factories.
Officials from the Chonburi Provincial Industry Office stated they will first verify whether the factories have more than 50 workers and machinery exceeding 50 horsepower. This will allow them to report to the provincial industry office to issue official orders following proper procedures.
On the same day, Mrs. Puangphet Pitaksahaphum and the executive team inspected subcontracting factories producing items such as car skirts and wooden furniture in Village 4, Samnak Bok Subdistrict, after villagers complained about paint odors carried by the wind and noise at night. The factories were warned that if they do not improve, they will be ordered to close and must obtain proper permits in accordance with the law.
