Fire Contained at Pattaya City Center Hotel Rooftop, Injuries Rise to Four

Fire has been brought under control after a rooftop blaze at a hotel in central Pattaya. Authorities quickly evacuated tourists amid chaos. Injuries have increased to four, with the most severe case involving burns and smoke inhalation.

At 21:30 on 21 May 2026, the Pattaya City Land Disaster Prevention Center (Pattaya Fire Department) received reports of a severe fire on the rooftop of a hotel located on North Pattaya Road 3, Village No. 6, Naklua Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Fire trucks and aerial ladder vehicles were dispatched along with Pattaya City Police and Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rescue teams.

The scene involved an 8-story hotel where flames were raging intensely on the rooftop (8th floor), which features a swimming pool. The fire spread widely across the building, visible from a distance due to flames and smoke. Firefighters rushed to douse the fire and urgently evacuated hotel guests from the building.

Four people were reported injured in the incident. Three sustained smoke inhalation—two Thai women and one Indonesian boy. The fourth, a Thai man, suffered burns over more than 20% of his body and smoke inhalation after running through the fire. Rescue and medical teams quickly transported all injured to a nearby hospital.

Firefighters have now contained the situation but continue to spray water. There are no visible flames, only smoke remaining. Police Colonel Anek Sarathongyu, Chief of Pattaya City Police, and Anusak Piriyamorn, Bang Lamung District Chief, along with other relevant officials, are on site investigating the cause and continuing to evacuate nearly all remaining occupants from the building.

Firefighters are still searching the building to confirm if anyone remains trapped. The hotel confirmed it was nearly fully booked today, with 173 total rooms. Currently, 120 rooms are confirmed occupied, with an estimated 240 guests in total. Authorities are conducting a thorough check.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
