Chonburi Governor and Police Commander Join Interrogation of Suspected Drug Dealer Claiming Debt Repayment Motive

The Governor of Chonburi Province, along with the Commander of the Chonburi Provincial Police, jointly interrogated the suspected drug dealer. "Drugs" The suspect confessed, claiming she did it to obtain money to pay debts.


On 27 May 2026, Mr. Narit Niramaiwong, Governor of Chonburi Province, together with Mr. Issara Charoensachart, Deputy Governor of Chonburi, Police Major General Phongphan Wongmaneethes, Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, and Police Colonel Somchai Thiwongsa, Superintendent of Mueang Chonburi Police Station, along with the drug suppression investigation team of Mueang Chonburi Police Station, held a press conference to announce the arrest of a major drug case after detaining a woman along with a large quantity of methamphetamine and crystal meth.

This followed an incident on 25 May 2026 at approximately 11 p.m., when police led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Prakit Sukpee, Investigation Chief at Mueang Chonburi Police Station, and Police Lieutenant Kritdanai Baramiwatcharit, Deputy Investigation Chief, together with the drug enforcement team, received a tip from an informant that Ms. Namphueng, 31, was involved in illegal drug sales. They proceeded to search her residence in Village No. 2, Nong Ri Subdistrict, Mueang Chonburi District, Chonburi Province.

The search uncovered 20 methamphetamine pills and about 13 grams of crystal meth hidden inside the house. The suspect was detained and interrogated further, confessing that she sold drugs to raise money to pay off debts.

Later, authorities learned there were additional drugs concealed in Bang Phra Subdistrict, Si Racha District, Chonburi Province. A drug dealer had sent coordinates to the suspect to collect the drugs. Police conducted a follow-up raid, seizing 6,000 more methamphetamine pills and approximately 300 grams of crystal meth hidden along a road inside the mentioned alley. The total seized evidence amounted to 6,020 methamphetamine pills and roughly 318.09 grams of crystal meth.

A drug test on the suspect's urine revealed the presence of illicit substances. Authorities charged her with "joint possession and distribution of Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine and crystal meth) with intent to sell unlawfully" and "illegal use of Category 1 narcotics (crystal meth)." She was then handed over, along with the seized items, to investigators at Mueang Chonburi Police Station for legal prosecution.
