36-Year-Old Woman Terrified After Neighbors Persistent Advances Turn Violent When Rejected

In Pattaya, a 36-year-old woman was terrified after claiming that a male neighbor persistently courted her. When she refused his love, he repeatedly punched her until she was bruised all over. A bystander said they heard the assailant scolding the woman about speaking loudly on the phone.

At 06:30 on 19 June 2026, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Rescue Radio Center received a report of an assault with injuries at an apartment in Soi Thepprasit 7, Village No. 10, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Upon receiving the report, they coordinated with Pattaya City Police and rescue volunteers who rushed to the scene.

At the scene, Miss Daraporn, 32, was found injured with bruises on her body, cuts on her lip and right eyebrow, and blood smeared over her body. Rescue personnel provided initial first aid before transporting her to the hospital. The assailant had fled before police arrived, and despite efforts to intercept him via radio communication, no trace was found.

Miss Daraporn, 32, said she lives on the fourth floor and was assaulted by Mr. Keng, about 30 years old, who is her next-door neighbor with only one room between them. She had lived in the apartment for about 5-6 months. During that time, Mr. Keng secretly liked her and persistently courted her from the first day, but she continuously rejected him and tried to avoid him. On the day of the incident, after finishing work and returning to her room, she met Mr. Keng just as he was coming out of his room. They exchanged greetings, but she was already intoxicated and wanted to rest. A verbal argument ensued, and Mr. Keng assaulted her by slapping and punching, causing her injuries. Fortunately, a good Samaritan intervened to stop the attack.

Mr. Weerawat Phumi, 36, a bystander, said he heard a quarrel and went to check, seeing a man and woman arguing from the fourth floor down to the front of the dormitory. Both parties were fighting, so he intervened to separate them. He did not know the exact cause but heard the assailant scolding the woman about talking loudly on the phone, leading to back-and-forth arguments. Initially, they were separated, but the fight resumed downstairs with physical violence. Afterward, he promptly reported the incident to authorities to intervene.
