A foreign man broke into a dormitory searching for a woman but did not find her. He went door to door knocking, then threw acid at the dormitory caretaker. When others tried to stop him, he fled.
On 24 June 2026, it was reported that at 20:30 on the previous day (23 June), the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Radio Center in Pattaya received a report of a person severely injured by acid thrown at them. The incident occurred in front of a rental room in Soi Anunothai 2, Central Pattaya, Moo 9, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Authorities immediately coordinated with Pattaya City Police and dispatched rescue volunteers to investigate.
The scene was a commercial building converted into daily and monthly rental rooms. In front of the dormitory, near the counter, acid damage was found on a doormat and chair cushions, with holes burned through them and acid stains on the floor. Residents quickly brought water to wash the area.
Inquiry revealed that the victim was severely injured by acid thrown onto her body and had been taken earlier to Pattaya City Hospital. She was later identified as Ms. Wirawan, aged 43. The acid was thrown onto her face and body, causing nearly blistering wounds and serious injuries. Medical staff provided treatment before transferring her to Chonburi Hospital.
The victim’s employer reported that before the incident, a foreign man of unknown nationality, approximately 30-40 years old, entered the dormitory and knocked on multiple rooms, disturbing residents. The injured woman, who was the caretaker, approached him to inquire and talk, which escalated into an argument.
During the argument, the foreign man threw acid he had prepared at the caretaker and then fled quickly. It is initially known that the man came looking for a woman staying in the dormitory. When he could not find her, he became agitated and disturbed others. When the caretaker tried to intervene, he threw acid from a bottle disguised as a beer bottle onto her face, causing the injuries.
Police are currently interviewing witnesses at the scene and reviewing CCTV footage to track down the foreign suspect and bring him to justice.
