Heavy Rain in Trat Floods Sato Subdistrict, Four Villages Submerged Authorities Rush to Aid Residents

Continuous rain in Trat has led to flooding in Sato Subdistrict, submerging four villages. Residents' homes have been cut off from the outside world, and authorities are rushing to provide assistance.

After heavy rain persisted throughout 4 July 2026 in Bo Rai and Khao Saming districts of Trat province, flash floods occurred, inundating homes in several areas, especially Bo Ploy, Nong Bon, and Dan Chumphon subdistricts in Bo Rai District, before the water flowed downstream into the lowlands of Khao Saming District.

This morning (5 July 2026), Sato Subdistrict in Khao Saming District was severely affected as water levels in the Sato canal, which receives water from Bo Rai District, rose and flooded four villages within Sato: Villages 3, 4, 7, and 9. Residents suffered significant hardship, with some homes cut off from the outside world, accessible only by flat-bottomed boats. In some spots, floodwaters reached 2-3 meters, especially at Thung Krobok Village 7, a natural basin collecting the water.

Border Patrol Police Region 116, together with administrative officials and local government organizations, conducted damage assessments and provided initial aid by distributing boxed meals, water, and essential supplies, while closely monitoring the water situation.

Although rainfall has decreased today, accumulated water from the Banthat Mountain Range continues to flow into the lowlands, so Bo Rai and Khao Saming districts must remain vigilant against ongoing flood and flash flood risks, as water levels may still change at any time.
