A landslide buried a Myanmar worker, killing him during pier construction at a site in Chonburi Province. One Thai worker was injured.
At 18:00 on 25 July 2026, Police Lieutenant Patiphat Ma-kaew, deputy investigation officer of Bo Win Police Station, Si Racha District, Chonburi, received a report of a landslide at a construction site along Road 331, Moo 8, Bo Win Subdistrict, Si Racha. At the scene, there was one fatality and one injury. Upon receiving the report, he immediately went to the site with rescue personnel from Pure Liang Tai Si Racha Rescue Unit.
At the scene, which was a pier construction site, rescue workers were urgently performing CPR on Mr. Nay Zar Kyaw, 28, a Myanmar national, trying to save his life while awaiting the medical team’s arrival.
Nearby, another injured person, Mr. Urupong, 43, was found with abrasions on his body. Rescue workers provided initial first aid before transporting him to Laem Chabang Hospital for further medical treatment.
When the medical team arrived, they confirmed that Mr. Nay Zar Kyaw had died at the scene. Police then took photographs of the area as evidence.
According to workers at the site, during the electrical pole construction, the deceased had entered a pit to measure distances. Suddenly, soil at the pit’s edge slid down abruptly. They tried to rescue him but could not reach him in time, though they managed to help the Thai worker out safely. After the incident, they promptly called the relevant authorities to the scene.
Initially, police arranged for the rescue unit to take the deceased’s body to Laem Chabang Hospital for an autopsy. They will now expedite an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
