According to the latest reports, the suspect is a police officer named Lieutenant Phong (Police Lieutenant, 53rd Police Cadet). After the incident, he fled to his residence about 3 kilometers from the kindergarten where the shooting occurred. Police Colonel Sarawut Nuchnarat, chief of Bang Lamung Police Station and his direct superior, led a fully armed police team to surround the house to negotiate and persuade him to lay down his weapon and surrender.
