Police are preparing to revise their negotiation plan while waiting for his son to fly back from the south to assist in persuading him.
On 9 September 2026, developments continued regarding the siege of Lieutenant Thasaphong Thongthach, known as "Lieutenant Oh," age 55, deputy patrol officer at Bang Lamung Police Station. He barricaded himself inside his home in a village in Nong Plalai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, after committing a shocking act by shooting his wife, Ms. Phailin Thongthach, age 48, or "Teacher Ple," fatally in front of a classroom at Nong Plalai Municipal Kindergarten. During the siege and negotiation attempts, police commanders, veteran officers, and relatives have tried to communicate with him, but Lieutenant Oh shows no intention of surrendering.
Most recently, at 18:30, Police Major General Pongpan Wongmaneethes, Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, maintained the perimeter around Lieutenant Oh’s residence. The house remained tightly closed, with all doors and windows covered with curtains to prevent visibility from outside. Police detected signs of life inside; Lieutenant Oh was seen pacing inside the house on both the ground and upper floors.
