Due to continuous heavy rainfall over several days, many areas in Chonburi province have experienced flooding, causing traffic congestion on several roads. In some spots, water levels have reached 50 to 80 centimeters, preventing small vehicles from passing. Meanwhile, a generous woman in Phanat Nikhom has announced opening 10 new houses originally intended for sale to residents whose homes are flooded and who currently have no place to stay, offering free accommodation until the situation improves.
At 11:00 a.m. on 26 September 2026, reporters reported on the flood situation in Chonburi province following several days of heavy continuous rainfall. Many roads and residential areas have been affected. Along Sukhumvit Road, from Chonburi town heading towards Bang Saen, especially near Chatujak Market, flooding has covered road surfaces and roadside areas at multiple points. Meanwhile, Suk Prayoon Road between Nong Tamlueng and Chonburi also experiences flooding, resulting in traffic congestion.
Additionally, within the industrial estate area of Phanat Nikhom district, some spots have water levels between 50 and 80 centimeters, preventing small cars from passing and causing damage to several motorcycles due to flooding.
At the same time, a Facebook account named “Mayor Thammarat Petchrawut” posted a warning advising residents in low-lying areas to prepare by moving belongings and valuables to higher ground. A large volume of water is flowing into Phanat Nikhom district, where several places have already been affected by flooding, damaging residents’ property.
Amid these circumstances, a story of local assistance has emerged in Phanat Nikhom district. A Facebook account named “Lek Kansinee” announced opening her homes to flood victims who cannot stay in their own houses, stating the homes can accommodate approximately 30 people. This announcement has received much praise and encouragement from netizens.
Subsequently, reporters visited Namatoom subdistrict in Phanat Nikhom district, Chonburi province, and met Ms. Lek Kansinee, a wealthy woman, who revealed that she operates a real estate business including condominiums, hotels, rental rooms, and housing estates. She currently has 10 newly built houses that were recently completed and originally intended for sale.
Ms. Lek said that after seeing heavy rain persist for several days causing many families in Phanat Nikhom district to suffer from floodwaters entering their homes, with some unable to stay inside, she decided to open all 10 new houses for flood victims to stay free of charge.
“All the houses are new and meant for sale, but since they haven’t been sold yet and seeing the villagers’ distress, I want to use them to help people first. Anyone whose home is flooded and who has no place to stay can come and stay here,” Ms. Lek said.
So far, a mother and child family have contacted her for help. Staff are currently preparing and cleaning all 10 houses to accommodate more flood victims who might reach out. The houses will be available free of charge until the floodwaters recede and residents can return to their own homes safely.
Ms. Lek also sent encouragement to those affected by the floods, saying natural disasters are unwanted events, but when they occur, everyone should help and share what they can to support those affected through these difficult times together.
