Investigations revealed that before the incident, the deceased had come to Rayong City Police Station to ask officers to charge his mobile phone. After charging, he lingered around the station. At that time, several patrol officers were gathering to begin their patrol shift. During a formation break, Police Lieutenant Nantapong Darach, head of the prevention and suppression unit, was resting on a marble bench in front of the station when the deceased approached and spoke with him. Then, the deceased walked around to the side and seized the pistol holstered on the officer's waist, then drew the weapon and shot himself in front of witnesses.Tags: [police patrol, suicide, firearm seizure, Rayong]
