Inspired by a love of "Japan," Kan Machi Cafe in Kanchanaburi is a Japanese-style cafe decorated with a torii gate at its entrance that recreates the atmosphere of a Japanese pedestrian street.
The tourism season is still ongoing. For those traveling to Kanchanaburi Province and looking for a charming cafe to take photos for social media, be sure not to miss "Kan Machi Cafe." Kan Machi Cafe This cafe brings the essence of Japan to Kanchanaburi, starting with a large 7.11-meter torii gate at the entrance, symbolizing the gateway to heaven in Japanese belief. Beyond the gate is the cafe, filled with many collectibles, Japanese-style seating, and a Japanese Zen garden featuring gravel stones that simulate nature, mountains, and water, providing a peaceful and serene dining atmosphere.
The final area, a distinctive feature and key selling point of the cafe, is Kan Machi Street—a recreation of a Japanese street filled with Japanese language signs on both sides, including advertisements, vending machines, traffic signs, and even on the road surface. There is a Japanese-style garage and a highlight photo spot with a pedestrian crossing and traffic lights. Kimono and yukata rentals for both adults and children are available nearby. A Japanese-style takoyaki shop is also close by. Signature menu items exclusive to this cafe include drinks and food such as tonkatsu curry rice, ramen, bakery items, strawberry mochi, warabi mochi, traditional green tea sets, and beverages like matcha and hojicha.
Ms. Chayada Chao Rainak, owner of Kan Machi Cafe, said the cafe is located in Tha Makham Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province. "Our cafe is Japanese-style, blending both Zen and Shibuya city themes. It is the first Japanese-style cafe here. Beyond the atmosphere, we also serve authentic Japanese food and drinks."
Regarding the inspiration for creating this cafe, she explained, "I love traveling to Japan and enjoy their towns and culture. This led to the idea of building a Japanese-style house and turning it into a cafe so that all tourists can visit and experience our home."
