"Kamphaeng Phet" Prepares to host a beef cattle contest "Khlong Khlung Brahman Showcase 2026" The first national Brahman cattle contest competing for a royal trophy


On 10 Jan 2025 GMT+7, a reporter reported that at DG Ranch Farm next to Sawatpaiboon Rice Mill, Khlong Khlung District, Mr. Chatip Rujanseri, Governor of Kamphaeng Phet Province, presided over the press conference for the "Khlong Khlung Brahman Showcase 2026" beef cattle contest. This is the first ASEAN national Brahman cattle contest in a new format, competing for the royal trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Present at the event were Mrs. Kanchanee Rujanseri, President of the Provincial Red Cross Chapter; Mr. Suwanit Suriyakul Na Ayutthaya, Deputy Governor; Mr. Anucha Pasathan, Deputy Governor; Mr. Sadudee Putthang, Provincial Secretary; Mrs. Nuch Riyakul Na Ayutthaya, Deputy President of the Red Cross Chapter; along with heads of government agencies and media representatives attending the briefing.

Today's press conference also featured Mr. Thawatchai Thaotham, Provincial Livestock Officer; Mr. Prinya Thawan-arnnop, Provincial Tourism and Sports Officer; and Mr. Phakphoom Mungngam, Managing Director of DG Ranch Co., Ltd., who joined the stage to announce the event's date, time, and location.

Meanwhile, the Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Livestock Office, in collaboration with Khlong Khlung District, the Khlong Khlung Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and DG Ranch Co., Ltd., will host the "Khlong Khlung Brahman Showcase 2026" beef cattle contest. The event, held from 23 to 25 Jan 2026 GMT+7 at DG Ranch Farm, Khlong Khlung Subdistrict, Khlong Khlung District, Kamphaeng Phet Province, honors and commemorates the gracious contributions of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to Thai livestock farmers. It aims to instill pride in the Thai cattle farming industry, elevate Thai cattle contests to international standards, and serve as a platform to demonstrate livestock technology innovations and modern farm management techniques for farmers to further develop.

Mr. Chatip Rujanseri, Governor of Kamphaeng Phet Province, said the event stimulates the local economy and tourism, aligning with the province’s policy to boost tourism and services. Livestock farming is a key factor in Kamphaeng Phet’s growth as one of the leading provinces in northern Thailand. Additionally, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously bestowed four royal trophies: 1. Best American Gray Brahman Bull; 2. Best American Gray Brahman Female; 3. Best American Red Brahman Bull; 4. Best American Red Brahman Female.

Mr. Thawatchai Thaotham, Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Livestock Officer, revealed that the province has over 32,000 beef cattle and more than 2,300 cattle farmers. Hosting the first beef cattle contest in Kamphaeng Phet will help develop and promote the production of higher quality and greater quantity beef cattle. It will also strengthen Thailand’s economy to be prosperous and sustainable and elevate the contest to a national level.

Mr. Prinya Thawan-arnnop, Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Tourism and Sports Officer, added that the "Khlong Khlung Brahman Showcase 2026" is a national-level contest that will attract more visitors to Kamphaeng Phet, boosting the local economy, especially in accommodation, food, and tourism sectors. The reputation of Kamphaeng Phet beef cattle will enhance the province's tourism profile and become a new distinctive identity for Kamphaeng Phet.

Mr. Phakphoom Mungngam, Managing Director of DG Ranch Co., Ltd., disclosed that the event includes competitions for Brahman, Beefmaster, and crossbred beef cattle, with judges from the United States. Activities feature Showmanship contests, modern agricultural exhibitions, livestock displays, large agricultural machinery demonstrations, quality beef menus, and concerts by famous artists such as Lamyai Haitongkham, Morlam Siang Wihok (Alangkarn Show), Yard Pirun, and singer Sai Nak Yao.
