Second Franchise Career Roadshow Opens to Boost Northern Economy

The Ministry of Commerce, through the Department of Business Development, is advancing efforts to stimulate the northern economy by bringing a lineup of quality franchises to the second roadshow at Central Festival Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Province, from 15-18 Jan 2026 GMT+7.

On 15 Jan, Mr. Sataporn Ruamnaphaya, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, presided over the opening of the second Franchise Career Roadshow at Central Festival Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Province. He emphasized continuous support for SMEs and those starting businesses to create opportunities, jobs, and economic stability for Thai people in all regions, especially Chiang Mai, a key economic center with high growth potential. The event aims to connect business networks from the central region to local areas and support Thai franchise entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses to local markets.

The event features more than 40 leading franchise brands covering food, beverages, services, and beauty sectors. It offers opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs, investors, small business operators, and the general public to choose franchises that match their interests and capabilities. Attendees can negotiate directly with franchise owners through business matching and enjoy franchise package discounts up to 30%. This initiative aims to make franchise investment more accessible for unemployed individuals and those seeking their own businesses, helping to stimulate the grassroots economy and strengthen the regional economic system.

Mr. Sataporn added that the event also provides investment and franchise business management consultations from leading financial institutions exhibiting at the event. These institutions offer advice, financial support, and exclusive privileges for attendees, including special franchise promotions and discounts available only during the event. Currently, there are 4,149 franchise brands in total, including 686 Thai franchises and 571 franchises developed with support from the Department.
