Tan Passakornnatee launches One Chichan establishing it as a Festival Destination Thailand's new venue supporting national and international events
On 19 Feb 2026, Tan Passakornnatee developed a premium zone in Pattaya aiming to become a national festival hub amid the rapid growth of Thailand’s music, showbiz, and live entertainment industries. One Chichan at Khao Chi Chan, Pattaya, officially opened as the country's first Festival Destination specifically designed to host concerts and music festivals from national to international levels.
One Chichan is located at Khao Chi Chan, Pattaya, Chonburi Province, covering over 160 rai. It has been developed into a scalable outdoor venue capable of accommodating 2,500 to 30,000 attendees. The infrastructure is specifically designed for festivals, including event layout, traffic systems, safety, restroom facilities, and parking, all to provide a comfortable experience for audiences, artists, and staff.
Over the past five years, the music festival industry has grown by 65%. In 2024, Thailand hosted 284 concerts and music festivals, a 29% increase from the previous year, reflecting clear demand for live entertainment, especially from Thai and international tourists who are fans of various artists, generating significant economic impact. However, over 91.6% of these events remain concentrated in Bangkok and its vicinity, causing venue overcrowding, traffic issues, and limitations on scaling up events.
One Chichan was developed to address this structural gap by relocating event congestion away from Bangkok to a potential area that connects music, nature, and lifestyle.
The core concept of One Chichan is "Venue-first Thinking," designed with advice from experienced national festival organizers to solve recurring issues such as insufficient parking, unclear entrances and exits, inadequate and unclean restrooms, and venues not originally designed for large crowds or enough accommodation.
One Chichan features a strategic location approximately two hours from Bangkok, 20 minutes from U-Tapao Airport, and 30 minutes from Pattaya. It offers over five entry and exit routes, parking for more than 4,000 vehicles, and over 200 air-conditioned and cleanliness-prioritized restrooms.
In addition to appropriate event layout for large crowds, the venue offers conveniences such as restaurants, cafes, after-party halls, five hotels with diverse concepts and target groups, a man-made beach photo spot, Wonder Light installations throughout the area, and importantly, waste management by Ichitan ReCircle implementing a closed-loop system in partnership with recycling associations and shops to ensure circularity and environmental responsibility.
Hosting large festivals at One Chichan will not only create experiences for audiences but also stimulate the local economies of Pattaya, Rayong, and nearby provinces. Studies show that festivals can increase local business revenue during events by three to five times, benefiting hotels, restaurants, transportation, and related services, while generating employment in production, security, service, and logistics sectors both short- and long-term.
The official opening event for One Chichan will be the WONDER ONE Music Festival, serving as a proof of concept to test all systems on a real event scale—from stage structures, crowd management, security systems to audience experience. Feedback from this inaugural event will be used to continually improve One Chichan, preparing it to host national and international events in the future.
Tan Passakornnatee added, "I want One Chichan to be a venue for national and global concerts or events, becoming another man-made tourist destination in Pattaya that attracts many visitors—not just for business profit. Over the next five years, you will see a new city that draws events and many tourists. This place will be Pattaya’s Thonglor, its Khao Yai by the sea, its ozone zone. You will immediately feel the dedication and effort we put into it."
Meanwhile, Mr. Sombat Kaewpathum, Mayor of Kletkaew Subdistrict Municipality, said, “As a lifelong resident of Sattahip District, I am very pleased and proud that our home will soon have a new tourist attraction. This shows our area’s potential, beauty, and value are enough to attract tourists from across Thailand and abroad.”
Regarding this new tourism development, he sees it as an important opportunity for the local community, as it will create income and expand job opportunities in areas such as restaurants, souvenir shops, accommodations, homestays, and tour services. Locals can leverage their traditional knowledge, lifestyle, and culture to add value, increasing stable incomes and reducing the need to relocate for work elsewhere.
Additionally, increased tourism will encourage infrastructure development such as roads, transportation, electricity, water, and public health systems, benefiting not only tourists but also directly improving the quality of life for local residents, making their living conditions more convenient and safer.
