Supporting Uncle Nops Garden to Promote GI Kluai Khai Bananas as an Agricultural Tourism Landmark for the New Season

The District Chief of Mueang Kamphaeng Phet led a team to support "Uncle Nop's Garden" in promoting GI Kluai Khai bananas as a new agricultural tourism landmark for the upcoming season, to boost local agriculture and tourism.

Mr. Somkiat Chuenyu, the District Chief of Mueang Kamphaeng Phet, accompanied by deputy district officers and local administrative officials, proactively visited the community enterprise dedicated to reviving Kluai Khai bananas in Kamphaeng Phet. "Uncle Nop's Garden" Located in Sa Kaeo Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kamphaeng Phet Province, the visit aimed to promote the area as a new agricultural tourism destination and stimulate marketing and distribution of Kluai Khai bananas—both raw, ripe, and processed products—directly to consumers.

This visit coincides with the first batch of Kluai Khai bananas starting to enter the market, with volumes expected to peak from September to November. This timing aligns with the Thai Sat Festival and Kamphaeng Phet's local specialties event. Therefore, the district organized a "District Chief Takes a Tour" campaign to invite tourists and the public to learn about the cultivation, production, and processing methods, thereby expanding sales channels and increasing farmers' income during this season.

At "Uncle Nop's Garden," visitors can experience comprehensive agricultural tourism—from selecting banana shoots, planting, and maintenance to harvesting the fruit for sale in bunches. A highlight includes a variety of processed banana products, especially bananas in syrup and compressed banana snacks, which have been newly repackaged with modern, attractive designs.

After visiting Uncle Nop's Garden, the District Chief proceeded to the "Kluai Khai Market" in Ang Thong Subdistrict along both sides of Phahonyothin Road. This market is a well-known spot for processed goods and souvenirs, frequently visited by travelers passing through the northern route. On this occasion, the District Chief met with local vendors, sampled, and purchased various signature products such as dried bananas, banana chips, and banana break snacks to encourage and support local entrepreneurs.

The District Chief of Mueang Kamphaeng Phet invited tourists and interested individuals to visit, learn about production processes, and support quality GI Kluai Khai banana products both at Uncle Nop's Garden and the Kluai Khai Market. This effort aims to contribute to the community's economic development and strengthen sustainable livelihoods for Thai farmers.
