Pathum Thani province is preparing to host the major event “Warmth and Happiness in Pathum City: Celebrating the Pathum Thani City Pillar Shrine 2026,” aiming to bring blessings to Pathum Thani residents, improve labor quality of life, stimulate the grassroots economy, and preserve local culture. The governor invites people to enjoy four themes—spiritual worship, arts, food, and tourism—linking the past to the future.
On 13 August 2026 at 11:30 a.m., at the old Pathum Thani governor's residence in Mueang district, Pathum Thani province, Mr. Aekwit Meephan, the provincial governor, chaired the press conference announcing the event “Warmth and Happiness in Pathum City: Celebrating the Pathum Thani City Pillar Shrine 2026.” Assistant Professor Kerdsiri Thongsiri, chairman of the Pathum Thani Cultural Council, along with government officials, private sector representatives, and media attended.
Mr. Aekwit Meephan, Pathum Thani governor, said the event aims to make the Pathum Thani City Pillar Shrine and Phra Pathum Thammarat the spiritual center for the people.
1. To bring good fortune, religious activities and blessing ceremonies will be held to uplift the spirits of Pathum Thani residents.
2. To improve labor quality of life, the event emphasizes both Thai and migrant workers in local enterprises, ensuring access to welfare, health care, workplace safety, and harmonious social coexistence in accordance with the law.
3. To stimulate the grassroots economy, the event promotes job creation and income generation for communities through the sale of OTOP products, community goods, cultural items, and aligns with government economic stimulus policies.
4. To preserve arts, culture, and tourism, exhibitions on Pathum Thani's history and culture will be held under the theme “Warmth and Happiness in Pathum City,” showcasing the distinctive identity of the province including Mon culture, waterways, and local wisdom, linked to a tourism route within the province to attract visitors and generate sustainable income.
The event reflects the unique identity of Pathum Thani through faith, arts and culture, local cuisine, and tourism. It is organized around four themes: spiritual worship, arts, food, and tourism.
The spiritual worship theme focuses on the City Pillar Shrine celebration and paying respects to Phra Pathum Thammarat, which are key highlights and serve as the spiritual anchor for Pathum Thani people.
The arts theme presents local art, culture, and wisdom, conveying Pathum Thani’s identity through distinctive products and traditional attire such as banana fiber textiles and Mon-style shawls.
The food theme gathers local and traditional dishes reflecting the lifestyle of local people, such as Mon-style rice in cold broth, Matard curry, and native vegetables, allowing visitors and locals to taste them.
The tourism theme enables attendees to experience the essence of all seven districts of Pathum Thani, as each district showcases its unique products and identity within the event.
Additionally, visitors can experience a historical atmosphere at the old Pathum Thani governor's residence, which has a history of over 108 years. The building's structure and style still reflect the city’s past, even though it has been raised higher than originally.
Governor Aekwit Meephan added that Pathum Thani has integrated cooperation across sectors to create comprehensive happiness for its people. Preparations include live exhibitions, folk art performances, local wisdom demonstrations, and cultural product sales to help youth learn about and take pride in Pathum Thani’s roots.
Assistant Professor Kerdsiri Thongsiri, chairman of the Pathum Thani Cultural Council, said the council has helped organize live exhibitions, folk art performances, local wisdom demonstrations, and cultural product sales to encourage public, especially youth, to learn about, love, and take pride in Pathum Thani’s heritage and to promote creative tourism. The “City Pillar Shrine Celebration” will run from 21 August to 1 September 2026 at the old provincial hall and Thep Pathumthani Park.
Besides participating in blessing ceremonies and paying respects to King Rama V, attendees can enjoy famous food stalls, delicious dishes, OTOP products, highlights from all seven districts, a large amusement park, and entertainment including concerts by well-known artists such as:
22 August 2026: Bua Phan Tangso, a famous Mor Lam Sing singer.
25 August 2026: Bangnus Band (Future Band).
27 August 2026: Baw Wee.
29 August 2026: GN, Diamond MQT, and Younggu, well-known hip-hop and trap artists in Thailand.
30 August 2026: Mai Lueay Band.
31 August 2026: Maleehuana.
