Pathum Thani Governor Opens “Cultural Identity Showcase” Highlighting Local Cultural Identity

The governor of Pathum Thani province opened the “Cultural Identity Showcase,” highlighting local cultural identity towards a creative economy and global markets.

At 16:00 on 21 Aug 2026 at the promotional area on the 2nd floor of Zeer Rangsit Shopping Center in Khu Khot Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani province, Mr. Eakwit Meepian, the governor of Pathum Thani, presided over the opening ceremony of the “Pathum Thani Cultural Identity Showcase & Opening Ceremony.” Mrs. Lassama Tharikes, the provincial cultural officer, along with representatives from government agencies, private sectors, entrepreneurs, cultural networks, and the public attended the ceremony. The event featured a lotus flower dance performance and two mascots named Budding Lotus and Blooming Lotus, adding color for attendees to take photos. Additionally, singer Riyal Kajbandit, the first 200-time champion of the show "Mic Ends Debt Lucky Draw," entertained the audience on stage.

Mr. Eakwit Meepian, governor of Pathum Thani, stated that Pathum Thani is a region rich in cultural diversity with deeply rooted local wisdom, which represents an important cultural capital of the province. This capital can be further developed to create economic value while sustainably preserving and continuing the local identity.

He added that this event is an important mechanism to promote and elevate cultural products that clearly reflect the identity of the area, while also creating opportunities to develop and expand markets at provincial, national, and potentially international levels. Notably, the products selected for this project all have strong potential in terms of quality, creativity, and connection to community lifestyles, whether from agriculture, handicrafts, or innovations, showcasing the strength of Pathum Thani’s communities and entrepreneurs.

The governor also remarked that if these products continue to be developed in terms of identity, design, and marketing, they can become creative products with added value and gain wide recognition in the future. This would generate income and genuinely improve the quality of life for local people. He praised all sectors involved in the project—including government agencies, the private sector, experts, entrepreneurs, and communities—for collaboratively developing valuable and distinctive products presented today. He expressed confidence that this activity will not only showcase product potential but also serve as a starting point to build networks, connect markets, and expand business opportunities, leading to stable and sustainable growth of Pathum Thani’s cultural products. He hopes this event will be a significant driving force in advancing the province’s cultural products into valuable creative goods that bring renown to Pathum Thani.
