In the final stretch, only 5 days remain before the Udorn World Horticultural Expo opens, with an expected daily attendance of 20,000 to 30,000 tourists, helping to generate significant revenue and stimulate the tourism economy.
On 27 Oct 2026, reporters at the Udorn World Horticultural Expo site at Nong Daet Wetland, Kut Sa Subdistrict, Mueang District, Udorn Thani province, heard Deputy Governor Natthaphon Withee reveal that preparations are nearly complete, with only 5 days left before the official opening on 1 Nov 2026.
The Udorn Thani Municipality and its team have accelerated development of infrastructure within the municipality, including installing traffic lights, constructing safer intersections, burying power lines underground, and coordinating with the State Railway of Thailand to build connecting routes and deploy security personnel to support tourists arriving by train.
The event features 12 key sites ready to serve visitors: the main ticketing and reception building, the horticulture and senior citizen reception building, various learning centers such as indoor wood building, cactus building, bromeliad building, orchid building, and wetland plants building; a playground; the Royal Honor Exhibition Hall showcasing the King's science, sufficiency economy, and royal benevolence; international and organizational zones; a greenhouse with daily competitions; a cultural plaza with over 200 performances; as well as zones for field crops, flowers, and fruit trees.
It is expected that foreign tourists will make up about 30% of visitors and Thai tourists 70%, with key target groups including seniors, disabled persons, vulnerable groups, and students who enter free of charge. This is projected to attract no fewer than 20,000 to 30,000 visitors daily, generating significant revenue and stimulating the local tourism, hotel, and restaurant industries.
Deputy Governor Natthaphon Withee added that in these final 5 days, the team is intensively focusing on detailed decoration of flowers and main plants, while also ensuring safety and facilities for seniors and disabled visitors, aiming to make the Udorn Thani World Horticultural Expo a complete and impressive experience for all guests.
