Rock Mountain 2027 Expected to Generate Hundreds of Millions Some Khao Kho Accommodations Fully Booked

The annual "Rock Mountain 2027" concert in Khao Kho, Phetchabun, is expected to generate hundreds of millions in revenue, with many accommodations fully booked in just one day.

Reporters say that after GFest, a leading concert and music festival organizer under GMM SHOW, announced the schedule for the fifth "Chang Music Connection presents Rock Mountain 2027" outdoor winter concert on Saturday, 23 Jan 2027, at Jolly Land, Khao Kho district, Phetchabun province,

the announcement sparked a major wave of economic activity throughout Khao Kho district and nearby areas, reviving the local economy with a sharp surge after a period of quiet and ongoing price wars among accommodations. Analysts predict the event will circulate over hundreds of millions of baht within the local economy.

Tourism atmosphere shows hotel, resort, and campground operators all happily benefiting, especially accommodations in Kham Phran subdistrict near the venue, which were fully booked by fans within a single day. Some places even received bookings for the next year right after the last event. Additionally, benefits spread to neighboring districts like Lom Sak and Lom Kao, which saw a steady influx of tourists unable to find lodging in Khao Kho.

Ms. Lakkhana Kruahong, manager of Momotaro Resort in Kham Phran, said operators have faced rising costs and price wars to attract customers. However, the Rock Mountain music festival is an excellent local economic booster. Once the event date was announced, tourists rushed to book rooms and tents through all channels continuously for five years, with numbers rising annually. Besides lodging, restaurants, fruit and vegetable shops, coffee shops, souvenir stores, gas stations, and other service businesses also benefited, prompting calls for the government to continue supporting music tourism.

Ms. Kesinee Mektrairat, a Rock Mountain fan from Kamphaeng Phet province, said she loves the open-air concert atmosphere in Khao Kho because of the cool weather, allowing attendees to dress warmly as if traveling abroad. The production, lighting, sound, and stage design are creatively renewed each year. This time, she booked accommodation for three nights to relax with her family and also to visit the five Buddha statues at Wat Phra That Pha Son Kaew for good fortune.

For this year’s "Chang Music Connection presents Rock Mountain 2027," GFest plans to transform the natural amphitheater surrounded by mountains and the cold air of Jolly Land under a special theme inviting rock fans to solve the mystery of"The Tower of Stars sending signals to the universe of the journey of fate."The concert will feature a full lineup of 10 top Thai rock bands including BANK PREETI, BIG ASS, JOEY PHUWASIT, LITTLE JOHN, PALMY, POTATO, SWEET MULLET, TAITOSMITH, THREE MAN DOWN, and ZEAL, with tickets going on sale from 31 Oct 2026.
