Tourists were not disappointed this morning at the summit of Doi Inthanon. The lowest temperature was 4°C, causing the frost phenomenon. This marks the 12th occurrence this winter season.

On 19 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that the atmosphere at Doi Inthanon National Park in Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province, was lively. Tourists flocked to experience the cold weather on Doi Inthanon after the Northern Meteorological Center reported that temperatures in both lowlands and highlands would drop by another 1-3°C.

Today’s weather was colder than previous days, with clear skies allowing tourists ascending to experience the cold to be rewarded. Not only did they witness the first golden sunlight of the day, but the frost phenomenon also appeared, sparkling white on car roofs, chairs, and grass near the summit protection unit, exciting all who saw it.

Today, the grass summit temperature was measured at -2.6°C, while the summit of Doi Inthanon registered 4°C. The viewpoint at Kew Mae Pan also measured 4°C. This frost event is considered the 12th occurrence this winter season.

Meanwhile, the camping ground at Doi Pui in Suthep-Pui National Park, Mueang Chiang Mai District, near the city forest, was equally lively. Tourists pitched tents to enjoy the cold breeze, watch the sunrise, and take in 360-degree views of Chiang Mai city and the blooming Thai cherry blossoms. This morning, the lowest temperature at the campsite was recorded at 13°C.
